Great Job. Now iAtkos L1(10.7.1) works on my Gigabyte Ga-X48-Dq6 with Asus 6950 DCUII (2GB with unlocked shaders) card like a charm. iTunes and VLC player are ok 🙂
    Thanks so much !!!

so far this is a No Go on my 4,1 using an EFI flashed 6950

I tried it with and without the ATY_Init that is in package

I tried straight boot and coming from Windows 7, always locks on Grey Apple screen, though disk activity continues for some time after

Same card worked with the BETA package

I will try re-updating and reinstalling and report back

Try doing it this way if you are having problems..

After the 10.7.2 update delete the atiradeonx3000gldriver.bundle before rebooting, reboot and then install the package.

    Hey guys!

I’m going to try this thing out, I wait long time for this to come up!

But I have a question, will this install on 10.6.8?
Don’t want to upgrade to Lion yet…

    Thanks in advance!

    @ #5 etc
mate, in that sense, you’d better off wait till Apple officially supports your desired GPU model.

I would imagine MSAA, OpenCL and other accelerations still wouldn’t be working at this stage.

    Not working for me 🙁
Installed combo 10.7.2, then deleted bundle and installed this package. It freezes on cold boot same as before, chess not working. Where my mistake?

    instaled this
    grey screen
    rebooted with button
    grey screen 🙁

Well, it works on 10.7.2, I had to delete ATY_Init as I use a MacPro3,1 SMBios and that has issues. The only thing wrong is there’s no acceleration, and the scaling for my card connected via HDMI to a monitor is like, smaller.. that is, there’s a black border around it.
Yeh.. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Does it freeze on warm boot? I don’t know if the cold boot problem is fixed yet. At least, I haven’t seen anyone say that it has.

I want to try this, but I am waiting until I hear about more successful attempts.

Freezes only on cold boot. But Windows is loading so loooooong (2-3 minutes of blinking cursor, FUUUUUU), that i need to swap cards for working.

I did try this package on a flashed Sapphire 6950=>6970. Removed atiradeonx3000gldriver.bundle, rebooted and installed the package.I forgot to put graphicenabler to “No” in my boot.plist, and had a kp about aty_init. Now graphicenabler is disabled but I also deleted Aty_init for testing. The card is listed correctly in about my mac, qe/ci works, didn’t try vizualisation in itunes or chess but everything else is working fine! So, is it ok if I run my hackintosh without aty_init?
    A big thx to Netkas!

I have XFX 6950=>6970. After install this *.pkg my hak don’t load. I deleted ati_int and started. If I power on, i have white screen, but if turn power button (sleep), and wake after – system loads. Sleep work ok, but chess and iTunes not works(((

My card is a Sapphire 6950 2GB, and I’m having trouble getting this to work.
I cannot flash my card to 6970 because my PSU cannot handle it.

I downloaded the package here, and when I reboot I get frame buffer issues, that is a fked up screen with artefacts. I boot into single-user and delete ATY_Init.kext and I can boot into Mac OS X fine, however, there is no hardware acceleration and the scaling of the screen running at 1080p causes a black border around the picture.

The other package used in the beta do not have this issue (scaling issue), yet they both cause grey screens and no QE/CI.

    Any help?

If you are having problems with the latest package have a read on the forums under the 6970 thread. I have posted an updated package that should make things simpler for those having problems.

С данным драйвером карточка (Asus 6970) наконец-то завелась. Но все мутно, что все глаза сломаешь.
Что можно поправить чтобы все стало нормальным: не размытым, а четким изображением?

I also asked this in another post but i found this newer one so please excuse me asking again: which features of 6950 actually do not work and how are the chances of getting them working in the future with or without 10.7.3?

I thank you for your answers and netkas for the wonderfull work

I have the same problem Peter has, it might be because of Opencl or operating system trying to use GPU every 5 secs or 10 secs which the drivers can’t handle. I know the best thing to do is waiting Netkas to fix the problem. The mouse cursor jumps time to time that make everything quite hard to use. Anyone had anything to fix the issue?

    @Peter & Aether

I had similar issues and found that removing AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext solved the problem. This may or may not work for you, so as usual, back-up the kext and re-install if no change.

Are there any fixes for the ATI 5670 cards? I have a 5670 XFX 1 GB card with DVI, HDMI, and Display Port, and no matter what I do, I cannot get complete support. It always pops up as a 5MB card, is there anyone who knows what to do to fix it?

I also have my 6950 now running on native resolution (1920×1200) under lion 1.7.2.. But I dont get QE/CI (chess not working, no ripple effect in dashboard). Can you give more details about what you exactly did?

Card is reported fine, tho i have to boot with graphicsenabler=No
