Clones, clones, clones….

Mac clones computers appearing this days very often.

They promise a lot – completly problems-free, updates support.

Its not true,  nothing can make pc’s absolutely compatible with osx, for example, applehda panic in 10.5.7, it was unpredictable, try to install snow leopard on clone-pc and on mac, and compare results, it’s good proof of what i’m telling.

Whatever they tell you about uber technologies, like bios replaced with efi, or special ICs on mainboards – it’s all marketing bullshit.

To boot unmodified osx on pc, you just need a proper bootloader, it can work on top of bios, like boot-132 based bootloaders, or it can work on top of bootable efi  enviroment (tianocore, still works on top of bios), like iphonetom’s booter. it can be installed to usb stick(chameleon with nice gui) or cd/dvd medium, but it’s still software-only solutions, it’s not genuine Apple’s bootloader, and it’s available for free.

If you like macs, buy  a mac, if you like pc and osx – build a hackintosh, clone makers fool you into thinking you buying a mac-compatible system.

1 company comes to mind “EFI-X” what a bunch of jokers they say all this crap and really all there device is is a crappy usb stick with stolen drivers and a boot loader, I Hate them they have no clue what they are doing when apple released 10.5.7 efix kernel panicked and
had to update firmware but guess what there Crappy £2 server couldn’t take it and blew up. They reckon they wrote support for Core i7 in there device lol yeah right. and don’t even let me get started on the Efix moderators they are all retards!!!!! iPhone Toms boot-loader is easily King.

It just shows us a way to build hackintosh easier. Is that right?

psystar that is all that i know of:

if the customer doesn’t update then yes it is exactly what they are selling a compatible apple clone.

apple them selves are full of shit about the junk they throw in their machines and sell it.. no matter what biz you are in, there is always some huge amounts of bullshit behind it,

the only honest to goodness is you, netkas who does what you do to help the community and you really don’t ask for a dime… not that is making a difference and is great in my book.

Great blog, I’ll agree if you have the $$$ then just go buy a Mac. Me being a hardcore PC user for over 15 years, I made the jump to OSX a few months back on a new laptop. I decided to create a Hackintosh out of my old PC, and it’s a huge headache (for me) to figue out which Kexts I need etc., and Googling/using Wikis only made me more confused because soooo much information and the methods used in the past 3 years has changed. Glad to say I finally got a working iPC 10.5.6 build, though!

I think like Mr Howles: buy a Mac if you have the cash and have pleasure to use a very stable system. I’ve own 5 mac in the last 3 years and loved it. I’ve sell these to have more computer performance for my cash but at the dispense of the reliability of the Mac. I think, the only way to get retail OS X 10.5.6 working on a pc hardware is with boot 132 or the efi partition modification on a boot guid partition. But… it’s ot a real Mac 😉

I find joy in installing OSX on a PC. I have installed osx 2 times in the past two days, and haven’t gotten angry yet, it’s like a hobby. Always trying to get things working. Finally got it working =D.
