Some 7xxx radeon support is already in ML

Regarding previous news, I actually missed one thing.

Lombok – mobile Cape Verde (77xx or 78xxM) support is already in AMDRadeonAccelerator and in ATI6000Controller kexts.

So, look like apple is gonna use Lombok (78xxM) in their next products!

Thames (mobile Pitcairn, 78xx == 79xxM) support is around the corner too

Radeon Lombok XT Prototype
Radeon Lombok PRO Prototype
Radeon Thames XT Prototype
Radeon Thames PRO Prototype
Radeon Thames LE Prototype

Edit, sorry guys, i was wrong, according to this, lombok seems to be just 7xxx rebrand of 66xx Turks card.

That is exciting, does that mean we can use a 7770 in hackintosh now? Or we still have to wait for chameleon support before booting it?

//you need to cahnge devid of 7770 first, to match mobile counterpart

That’s exciting! Does that mean we can use 7770 to boot mountain lion dp3 or we still have to wait for chameleon to add support first?

No…, does this mean we will only see support for the mobile series? At least for now.

What does this mean for potentially using a Radeon HD 7970 desktop part? If these drivers and framebuffer are included for the 7970m for example, would it likely allow the 7970 to boot as the 6870 works perfectly (even though Apple doesn’t officially use the 6870 desktop part).

I’ve got the Radeon HD 7770, so stuck. Any luck, anything new? There seems to be nothing I can do until others jump on this. Any suggestions?

i’m using Ati HD 7690 (the upgraded 6750M,they said) i wanted to install the Lion OS. If my 7690M isn’t compatible with the Lion, can i just use the driver for 6750M? since 7690M just a repackage of 6750M with more Directx11 support.

i’m telling this, because i used to read that 7690M can using 6750M driver on windows. (FYI, Amd not release the Hd 7690M driver on their website yet)

Does this mean that the AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT will finally be supported in Mountain Lion? My friend wants to hackintosh his laptop with Intel HD 3000 Mobile and AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT, and would much prefer the AMD Radeon card to work fully in OS X.
