GTX 285 flash success.

The Rominator just finished experiments with flashing pc gtx285 with mac’s rom.

good news – it works, link speed is 5 GT/s (pcie 2.0), unlike 2.5 GT/s on flashed 4870 🙁

bad news – you need some soldering, because size of mac rom is 156kb, but size of typical pc gtx285 rom chip -128kb, so need to replace it with 256k rom chip before flashing.

    Which EEPROM did he use? I have about 20 M25P10 chips that are 1 Mbit.
    But the price of this card in Japan is high at 50,000 yen!

    ///ask him there

    could the rom file just remove some of the unused stuff in the rom, i ve seen t done before so the chip could be untouched.
    karol: there just diferent cards so it wont work the 8800 had a quadro equivelant so it allowed the flash
