Out of interest, do the nvidia drivers simply detect the available output ports and use them, or is it radeon-ish in that there are pre-programmed personalities for each frame buffer etc?

Also with the card used in this pic, was the fan speed controlled properly?

eVGA GTX 680 just works with Mountain Lion DP4 released yesterday! with SaberTooth X79 use npci=0x2000 PciRoot=1
Tested with 2 monitors at DVI ports and OK!
Tested HDMI port with a third monitor and nothing happened!
    Display Port not tested!

So the gtx 680 will work on Mountain lion only? or you can make it work in lion?

    Wich model works better?

Can only run 2 displays at once so far.

Likely it is at 2.5 GT/s, will take me awhile to figure out more stuff.

May have to get a MBP to get EFI going.

But once we get MBP Lion install, we should have Lion support.

Does HDMI work if running as the only monitor/TV? I mean taking into account what Rominator said thingy.

    June 14th, 2012 | 4:44 am

Yes! HDMI works when used single or with one DVI.
Display Port probably works too, I will test this tomorrow…

Displayport works standalone for sure. Haven’t tested with DVIs or HDMI.

    good day!

So basically Ive never installed a Gpu.

I’m using the mid 2010 stock mac pro, without changes to the Pci slots, only running the 1 display monitor.

If i install Mountain lion dp4 will i have to flash the card. Would i need different/more cables and would a gtx670 work the same?

    June 14th, 2012 | 8:54 am

you just need DP4 and install the card, reboot

expect performance increases with future OS updates

Wow I planned to get a GTX 670 and give up hopes of OS X on my 1,1 Mac Pro and stick to windows but damn, Netkas you’re awesome.

Hopefully now I can use the 670 I planned to buy and then fiddle with ML to install on a 1,1 and rekindle my dreams of OS X and Windows on one machine with one graphics card.

Has anyone tested displayport with an actual apple mDP Cinema Display (the 1st model that used minidisplayport but was not yet thunderbolt) or the apple Thunderbolt Display?
Also, anyone running it on a PCI-Express 2.0/2.1 board?

Nearly everybody said to make gtx680 work, you have to set GraphicsEnabler to “NO”.
I wonder why your gtx680 work that way? Also was what you posted point to how your gtx680 worked?

On a Mac Pro 5,1, I get black screens on both display port (connected to a 27 inch mini display port) and DVI 30 inch apple cinema display. Tried on 10.7.4 and 10.7.5.

On Mountain Lion, only the DVI on the 30 inch cinema display works. Black on the 27 inch.

GraphicsEnabler is definitely enabled on my PC. The second difference to the other Peaople is, that i have set the PciRoot to “2” instead of 1.
    Can anybody try my config?

My Hack**tosh can’t work with gtx 680 on my DELL T3500 that is working on 10.7.4 with a GTX 285 using NVenabler. I guess the delta update 10.7.5 should work fine for me with Kepler card. I am eager to find if someone host the 10.7.5 delta update DMG file for us, it will be very appreciated (for us non developer).

Did anybody try the 690 yet?
I’m using a 590 with my Hack (ML DP2) and drive 3 BenQ displays with it. Would love to swap it out for a 690, which should run way cooler and more silent..

    Noob here …

Is this a stock GTX680 we are talking about?
I can just buy a GTX680 (pc version) and plug it into my MacPro 3,1 with Lion and it will work? Do I have to flash the bios of the card?

Will the stock GTX690 work as well?

Can confirm the GTX690 works. Installed mLion GM and the card just works without installing drivers, patching etc etc. Thank you Apple 🙂

    Motherboard: Tyan FT72-B7015
    Processors: Dual Xeon X5680
    RAM: 144GB
    Hard Drive: OCZ Vertex III
    GPU: 8X Zotac GTX 680 4GB

My PC has 8 GTX680’s. Is there anyway I could get this to run all 8 GPU’s under mountain lion? I just want to benchmark it to see if I can get the highest score ever recorded.

Has anyone tried connecting (3) Qty Apple Cinema Displays 30″ That need Dual Link DVI DVI-D to the Nvidia GTX 680?

Are we able to connect (2) of the displays to the DVI-I and the DVI-D and then convert display port full size to DVI-D with an adaptor?

    Mac Pro 2008 3,1
    32GB RAM
    OWC Accelsior 480GB PCI-E
Current GPU ATI Radeon HD 5770 connecting (2) ACD 30″ Displays to mini display port with adapters and 1 30″ Display via DVI-D
