PC_EFI V10.1
Just a small fix for booting system without DSDT.aml
system was stalling on motherboards like gigabyte, where bootloader fails to find pointer to acpi 2.0 table, fixed.
if you dont have the problem – no need to update.
bootloader – bootloader
source patch from previous version – patch
install only over chameleon rc1, dont install over rc2.

Thanks, PCEfi 10.1 boots Snow a lot faster than PCEfi 10. Not tried in Leopard.
EP35-DS3r / Quad / 8800GT.
////O.o
snow leo work fine (32 and 64bit), i haven’t tested yet without dsdt patch
Hi there ..
Just tried PCEfi10 because of my Firewire Probs with ChameleonV2.0rc1 !
It fixed my firewire problems but introduced network problems, because of “incompatibilites with the DSDT.aml file and my extensions in the extra folder, I guess.
Haven’t got the time to sort it out , but today I tested PCEfi10.1 without DSDT.aml file and everything is working now , Firewire, Network, Sleep, TimeMachine
Thanks alot
Snow Leo 64 bit works fine without dsdt.
Gigabyte X58-UD5/i920/GTX285 (EFI string)
Snow Leopard Work fine without DSDT (with Gigabyte X58-UD5/i920/GTX275 (EFI string)
BUT on restart ,it reset the BIOS
i have gigabye motherboard GA-G33M-DS2R.
PCEFI_V10.1 installed, bootloader failed.
bootloader fails to find pointer to acpi 2.0 table is truly fixed? or fixing?
///the bug was when bootloader didnt find rsdp for acpi2,0 and passed 0 as pointer to acpi2.0 table
Causes BIOS Reset on Gigabyte board with Snow Loepard on restart.
////didnt u read another artile on this blog about fixing cmos reset ?
Netkas, could you please tell me what I am doing wrong, I have a P35 DS3L. I had previsuly installed chameleon 2 with dsdt.aml in the extra folder. When I overwrote chameleon 2 bootloader with PC EFI v10.1 and restart the computer, the computer just keeping restarting all the time. I can’t even see the version of the booloader because even before showing that detail it restart. What it could be? I am in OS X 10.5.7 Vanilla kernel.
Today I’m still running PC_EFI v8 started from Grub and this is working fine.
Upgrading to Chameleon2/PC_EFIv10 is not working, because the kernel crashed.
THere is an error: com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi.
After this I get an error about a problem with the ACPI driver (long message, I can’t remember) and the kernel panics.
Any idea what is the reason for this? I’m using the originale Apple kernel.
Found the problem: dsdt.aml was corrupt. Removed it, now its working
Installed Chameleon rc2 (the package file) to a usb flash disk formated as a 40 mb GUID partiton HFS+. Replaced /usr/standalone/i386/boot with the one provided herein v. 10.1. Motherboard is Gigabyte EX58-UD5. Boot halts showing a | sign in top left corner. Have not added any more files, any clues? Shold not this work?
Hi, I can not manage top install it, please, can you tell me how-to? I downloaded the boot archive ()bootloader) , but I don´t know what to do. Thanks in avance!
///install chameleon2 rc1 then replace boot file
thank you master!!
Will you update PC_EFI to use the new Chameleon 2 RC2 Code?
Hate to not be up-to-date in one way or the other^^
I’ve got Gigabyte G33M-DS2R and PC_EFI 10 or 10,1 aren’t working for me, after instaling Chameleon RC1 and replacing /boot in the bootloader GUI I continue seeing the same logo (without wings) and when trying to boot SL I get a KP
////(without wings) means u didnt install pcefi properly
Hey netkas,
This boot loader is working fine for me if i boot using -x32 but the default x64 is causing my computer to KP.
Any Ideas?

I’m using my DSDT that i customised using your method and that got rid of the Bios resetting so thats a thumbs up mate.
But if you could help me with this matter of mine in x64 mode it would be really appreciated
haha I thought that too, because of that I can’t understand what I did wrong. I just installed Cham2 RC1 from installer pkg and replaced /boot with the yours..
Anyone has a dsdt.aml for GB EX58-UD5 bios F7, updated so it does not reset? Also, where do I find Snow Leopard .kexts??
Thanks!
Sleep works on asus p5q-deluxe but my asus hd 4870 only displays 1/4 at wakeup with a lot of strange phenomemons like moving deformed pixels and black/gray lines jumping around. I am only using the DVI output (with the dvi2vga dongle).
Problems solved, was duo to a attached ide disk with a grub partition that chameleon did not like to see while loading..
Booting into SL installer now
Hello there.
I’m testing PC_EFI 10 and it reboots as /boot starts. Version 9 works fine. Do you have any idea of what can be wrong? The same occurs with Chameleon. Please take a look at this topic:
http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,138.0.html
Thank you.
Will you release a PC EFI verison based in the sources of chameleon RC2 to add it’s new capabilities such as Graphics enabler ?? Chameleon RC2 solved my color profiles and Dock/Dashboard issues whith two monitors. But now my processor frequency is not properly detected and I have to use a powermanager with custom smbios.plist X(
so far it seems it only wors with asus drw drives
I’m not a virgin but almost when it comes to installing this. Could you please help. I took hackintosh drive out, attached it ty my macbook pro installed Chameleon 2 RC1 and then made the invisible files visible. opened usr/standalone/i386 and replaced the files from i386 folder content that came from source patch from previous version. Still no success.
What am I doing wrong? I have P35 DS3L
revision I have replaces boot file in usr/standalone/i386 with your boot file (bootloader)
is that the right location?
Does anyone know if this will make my cpu fan on my Lenovo N200 laptop work???
It only works after e reboot when the system amost overheats.
cheers
[...] may want to grab Chameleon v2 RC1 Installer from Official Chameleon web-site and netkas’ PC_EFI boot file from netkas‘ site which could be found here. (PLEASE DO NOT USE CHAMELEON V2 RC2) [...]

I still can’t get it to install on my Sony VAIO CR490. It boots up to Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 Chameleon v2.0 RC1 r. I thought i installed Chameleon v2.0 RC3 r658. Anyway, it shows the appple logo for about 20 seconds and then just a black mouse pointer on the top left hand corner. It froze there. Am I doing something wrong?
I have a problem, not sure if it’s related with your pc efi, but it looks like. All works well, except for it doesn’t find sleep image when pc goes to deep sleep and than looses it’s power. It loads as it was not sent to sleep. If pc does not loose power it wakes from sleep instantly. I don’t have any settings related to sleep in my boot.plist. Should I add something? May you help me with advise?
My MB is Gigabyte EP45-DS3L.
Thank you!!!
sorry.. forgot to mention that I’m on Snow Leo and pmsettings shows me that it uses sleepmode 3
Looks like link is not working. Am I missing something?
Sorry. Got it. File sharing site was confusing to my small brain.
Link seems to be down again.

So, it says not to load this boot when using Chamelion RC2. But what about RC3? And, the article about how to do all thig, referenced above, *does* use RC2 and then loads this bootloader from netkas.
I’m confused. Looking to try a Snow Leopard install on a Dell Optiplex 755. Anyone else tried this?
can u upload it to mediafire.com? RAPIDSHARE SUCKS I CANT ACCESS

The download “EP45UD3P Installer for Snow Leapoard 10.6.0″ on Adam Pash’s site Lifehacker.com was the first true means of bringing the PC-MAC to the masses. The install worked “out-of-the-box” for thousands, if not tens of thousands. And Adam’s outstanding documentation made it all the more effortless. We PC-types are not very good at monkeying around with Kexts and permissions and the like, and just needed a rock steady system that could be relied upon.
This USB Drive installer was exclusively for systems based on the very popular GA-EP45-UD3P Gigabyte Motherboard, (possibly others), and finally allowed for that freedom, while taking the PC-MAC movement a quantum leap forward. It was like removing the crank from the automobile for countless numbers of us.
Is there now any possible way for a revised version of the application on Adam’s site to be made available for download to allow for the same complete dummy-proof setup with the OS 10.6.3 update and the many, many thousands of GA-EP45-UD3P PC-MACs already in use? All without having to figure out which Kexts to copy, and without having to deal with fixing permissions, which entails the risk of bringing down our 100% stable systems. Something as 100% as simple and reliable as the original?
Not looking for new features. Just the same stability with 10.6.3 that it now has with 10.6.0. (Actually, if Time Machine could be made to work, that would be a bonus).
If this could be done, may the link proliferate like the flame of a birthday candle on a cake in Mrs. O’Leary’s barn.
Axiously awaiting word, Thanks again, Mark. markss9876s@aol.com
FIX THE LINKS PLEASE.
The link is broken, rapidshare says “The file can not be found.”
D’oh! Just got it from the mediafire page. Thanks!

nice
Could you please check the link it seems that the file has been removed
Apparently the bootloader link is not working. Kindly suggest a different link or if somebody could mail it to me, it will be very good. Thanks in advance.
