About Snow kitty 10a421

Dsmos arent working anymore(and its not easy to fix it)

so, you will need decrypted files and install them manualy (until somebody will make installer), dont forget to correct persmissions on files after installing it.

You can find files in irc.osx86.hu #snowleopard, topic, link named decrypts.

    It works!
Replaced all the necessary files manually on Pentium D 820 + Asus P5LD2,
repaired permissions and I am back in business 😀

    Thanks, netkas.

It’s not working here. I had a working 10A411 SnowLeopard, installed the 10A421 update, replaced the 7 files in the set, made sure permissions were ok, and kernel panic after the kext loading stuff. I tried it with and without dsmos.kext in place, with and without AppleIntelCPUPowereManagement.kext in place (with 10A411 I didn’t need to remove it). This is on a Lenovo S10-2. Any other permutations I should try?

it work fine, great job, i have some CS (error/warning ??) messages, i don’t know if it is important or not:

    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=96[Dock] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=97[SystemUIServer] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=98[Finder] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=101[fontd] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=152[backupd] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=25[loginwindow] clearing CS_VALID
    CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x100000000): p=23[mds] clearing CS_VALID

hope we will have soon a new decrypter kext, again good work

Ive done the same but noticed stability has gone downhill (also have the cs_invalid_page warnings cparm has). Anyone else noticed this on their install?

Getting quite a few kernel panics now, 411 was quite perfect.

gautam, basically, gather all the necessary files and restore that 10a380 image
to a hard drive partition and start installing from there to a empty partition.
You just can’t use a vanilla kernel.

If you want more info, check out these sites, good luck 🙂

For people with KPs : I would test with less OC (FSB a bit down, RAM more time) .
My 100% stable GA Board with 10.5 has also problems with KP (not by wrong drivers). I set OC a bit down and now its also stable in 10.6.
Maybe the newer OS X 10.6 does more stress to CPU+L2 Cache and RAM than 10.5.7 and so CPU/RAM on the limit can panic.

Also check , if updated to A421 of also the GPU drivers where updated. In this A421 update they are a bit “hidden” and installed really late (by shewll script).
Date of the Drivers should be 22.07.2009 if correct updated.

Do we need a patched BIOS or DSDT.aml file as well as new decrypter kext or decrypted files? What is best list of kexts to add to disabler? Is there a definitive list of requirements to helping make snow kitty work on beige PCs compared to 10.5.7? What is best bootloader for snow? So many questions …. 🙂

Andreas..checked nvdanv50hal.kext version and it shows: created May 29, 2009
version 1.6.0.88. Does this mean the newest driver is not installed somehow?

Caution: The installer script above or Apple’s Installer is faulty, it somehow manages to delete crucial frameworks and makes the system unusable. Dunno why. Fixes greatly appreciated.

    ATI´s for example the ATI2000 (mosty used) has now: 1.6.0.88 (7142) ATI….

I uploaded the gpu drivers to check/compare (orig. .tar , zipped) for ATI+NV. The .tar is inmodified an comes within the A421. Sure you have to chown -R root:wheel if you copy that into the extensions.
