10.8.2 and 10.7.5 is out
Lets gather fixes!
Looks like nvidia fixed a bug with opencl on gk104
1) LION, openCL on 2gb+ cards, this fix still works – http://netkas.org/?p=1161
2) LION, itunes panic on 6970/6950 fix – http://www.multiupload.nl/FK2ZMT6BQY
3) MOUNTAIN LION, openCL on 2gb+ cards, this fix still works – http://netkas.org/?p=1161
4) MOUNTAIN LION, kernel panic on 6970/6950 fix, cold boot bug still present – http://www.multiupload.nl/KSWWYMSCCF
WTB USB Audio fix.
Since 10.8, I lose sound after a sleep cycle with my Creative USB Sound card. USB plug and play device like this shouldn’t be troublesome =/. Worked perfectly since 10.5-10.7.4. Using the 10.7.4 AppleUSBAudio.kext in ML does appear to fix it. Thoughts? Fixes?
iTunes panic on 10.7.5/6970 ๐
And I can’t rollback AMD drivers from your MBP2012’s pkg because “Show Package Contents” isn’t appearing in Finder.
rollback isn’t helps me. I removed ATIRadeon6000Controller, ATIRadeonX3000, ATISupport, ATIFramebuffer kexts (which showing in System Information), and OpenCL/OpenGL/OpenAL/GPUSupport frameworks, repaired permissions and cleaned kext caches. Then installed your MBP2012 pkg, and nothing happens, iTunes panic after few seconds after starting (when syncing with iPads/iPhones). Report contains ATIRadeonX3000 panic.
so still no evidence of ati tahiti drivers?
Anyone have luck with GTX570 and 10.7.5 with opencl working and CUDA working. I have a Mac Pro 2,1, using Chameleon to boot into 64bit, with a GTX570 and it’s working pretty good with 10.7.4, but wanted to see if the 10.7.5 update is worth it.
GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 w/ F12 & XFX Radeon HD 6870 Dual Fan
1. deleted OemSMBIOS.kext from /EFI/Extra/Extensions
2. re-applied AppleHDA.kext
3. patched /ATI6000Controller.kext/Contents/MacOS/AMD6000Controller for two screens of Gibba framebuffer
4. rebuilt system cache && rebooted
Ergo: perfect ๐
6950 on EFI64 Mac Pro working perfectly in 10.7.5 using Netkas EFI !!!
10.7.5 GM still needs OpenCl fix for cards greater than 2 GB, fortunately it is same one Netkas figured out for the Betas of 10.7.5. Tested and working on GTX570 2.5
Not working for my 4890HD (Fantomas1 final Kext on the forum)
reinstalled 10.7.5 combo, still no acceleration after installation with KextHelper
waiting for Netkas (GOD) intervention ๐
Hi rominator,
I ยปaccidentallyยซ updated to 10.7.5 and of course the Nvidia Driver seems not to work anymore.
When you say ยป6950 on EFI64 Mac Pro working perfectly in 10.7.5 using Netkas EFI !!!ยซ can you state a quick instruction on how to get it to run – respectively send me a link to the Netkas EFI install patch that you are using?!
Thanks a lot!
bests!
I got problem with black screen with only square in upper left corner.
Gtx 470 in Asus riiie
Hi rominator,
I would also like to get some instructions for that Netkas EFI install patch that you are using (like stexomatique)?!
@ Gre
EVGA GTX 580 1,5 GB works perfect in my MacPro 1,1 (2,1) in 10.7.5.
CL works without modifications. CUDA needs version 5.0.24.
The MacPro runs in legacy mode as Hackintosh. No different with smbios as MacPro 1,1 / 2,1 / 3,1 / 4,1 / or 5,1.
Issue: (since 10.7.5 betas) the Software Powermanagement (AGPM) didnt work. The Card is using her own Powermanagement like a MacPro 1,1/2,1/3,1 that is easily faulted.
EVGA GTX 680 2,0 GB didtnt run for me. See my post #434 here:

Any success with 4890 cards and 10.7.5? I wish I knew how to make the patches myself, anyone know what the process is?
Can you patch the libclh.dylib file (CC/SM 2.1+) so that OpenCL works correctly in 10.8.2 with non-GF100/GF110 cards ? Or at least can you make a post explaining how to do it or what software to use?
Just updated to 10.7.5 on MacPro 5,1 running the GTX 570 1.2GB and something got messed up with the CUDA driver. Now After Effects gives me a warning that I’m not running the latest version of the CUDA drivers, but I know have have 4.0 already installed.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I also need help with kext for the Ati 4890 Card. If there a QECI patch for 10.7.5 out anywhere?
My MacPro 1,1 working still fine. I donยดt wanna throw them away for now ๐
Greetings
+1 doc!
nVidia drivers slowed my machine down.
I have a Macpro 3,1 with GTX570. I had to update Cuda drivers to 5.024 for it to work.
Found this but haven’t had time to try it out for 48xx cards and 10.7.5. I guess the “fix.zip” is the one to get according to the comments for us Mac Pro 1,1 users?
http://www.osx86.net/view/3228-qe_ci_exotic_patch_os_x_lion_10.7.5.html
hi doc,
any information about this fix.zip ? Seems it works only on Hackintoshs isn’t it ?
still waiting any confrimed information for a patch working on 4890 & 10.7.5 …
Any help from Netkas would be appraciated … ๐
NETKAS WE NEED YOUR HEEEELP ! ! ! PATCH UUUUUSSS ! ! !!
I’ve some the same problem on my mac pro 1,1 with the hd 4890 and 10.7.5… is something to fix the driver and make the card working again? ๐ really thanks
I found a lot of patches there :
http://exoticpatch.eu.ki
but nothing (so far for 10.7.5 ๐ Someone to help ?
OpenCL runs fine in my Asus GTX670 2GB without any fix with this update.
Hi
Thank Netkas for all these years of loyalty to the tiny community of users “Radeon HD 4890”.
Now the question arises:
Is there a chance that the 10.7.5 exotic patch becomes functional for all?
And therefore, do we buy a new supported graphics card?
We would appreciate Netkas tell us if it continues.
And if he leaves, thank you for the work he has done.
If he tells us his choice, we can also make our.
Hi I have the same question ! Is there any chance to get the QE/CI Exotic patch (as .pkg) for 10.7.5 users and Nvidia 4890 on a Macpro 1.1 ??? Thank you in advance for your help ! Cheers
Hi Netkas, Same question as IridiumFr ๐ Normally I wait for the QE/CI patch to be released before I update. This time, I screwed ๐ and my screen flickers and my fans are at full speed !
i fell like there gonna be a loooot of downgrade 10.7.5 => 10.7.4 attempts in the next days !!
New Nvidia drivers for 10.7.5. Let’s see if these help! http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-295.00.05f02-driver.html
Here the Kexts Fix for QE_CI_ATI_48xx for 10.7.5 tested OK.

@ noone
Could you send me your ATI6000Controller patched for gibba or a link about how to patch it ?
this email is only about that kind of stuff : osx86.be@gmail.com
Thanks
so i tried the new Kexts : no success
1 – installation of the original Kexts from 10.7.5 (fresh start)
2 – installation of the new fixed ones (from momos73) : 4890HD card is seen but the display remains “VGA”, so no quartz Extreme
3 – installation of the “old” 4890 kext from the first fix (Fantomas) : display recognized but still no QE (you can see with the dock’s animations)
4 – installation of the ATIRadeonX2000.kext (from fantomas) : grey screen forever
-> back to my fully flashed X1900XT with 2 monitors attached (I could use both cards but i don’t want any video glimpses or glitches)
so still waiting – like my iPhone 5 ๐
see question and answer.
seems to be ok for some of us :
http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,3963.0.html
@ Sitrale – yep, identical problem to me. Looks like the X2000 kext is the issue.
hi all.
Just downgraded from 10.7.5 to 10.7.4.
A real mess ! ! ! haha
didn’t have any other solution.
Thanks Netkas for all your work.
Respect.
Hello, can you provide us with some kexts for the new update for lion?
