Good news for some macbooks
There is good news for owners of macbooks with intel graphics and 64-bit efi, who was successfull to enable 64-bit.
10.6.2 beta has 64-bit drivers for all intel igp’s used in macs.

Intel 4500 too?
I would like to install MacOS on Sony Vaio.
didnt I say it clearly ?
>10.6.2 beta has 64-bit drivers for all intel igp’s __used in macs__.

Simple answer is no, because Apple has never used Intel 4500 for MacBooks. Support is limited to GMA950 and X3100
This won’t enable openCL on these gpus, right?
could you post the kexts somewhere so they could be adapted for the GMA950?
Perf is the same as in 32bit Mode, but has some nasty Bugs, like sleep issues.
What about atheros wireless chip in 64 bit mode ?

Ok, thanks for the info.
how about the atheros driver?
Yahoooo! Netkas do you have beta kext (from 10.6.2) for intel gfx card.
if some kind soul can extract the intel 64bit kext’s/files and put em into an archive on rapid share or something that’d be appreciated.
I hope it fixes the slow performance of X3100 ever since Leopard. Older drivers are buggy as hell.
Re: OpenCL on X3100… does the hardware have compute shaders? iirc that’s a requirement for OpenCL support. I know it has 8 *shaders*, but I don’t know what they are.
just tried them with an x3100 (Device ID:0x2a02 Revision ID:0x0003) on a hack laptop (just the kexts, not all of 10.6.2 beta). works great in 64bit
Where can we find the kexts? Can’t wait any longer to try them.
Hey avian, where did you get the kexts? Is it possible for you to rapidshare them? TIA
@Avian
Great! Where did you get the kext files?
Cheers
please share 64-bit kext for intel video card (gma950 and x3100)
Netkas, Thank you very much for the info… Do you work for Apple?
avian, would you please send me an email with this kexts?
where can I download these kexts?
////from premium ADC
Hey netkas, can you say what the BEMB key is, for what it stands? After 10.6.2 it showed up in dmesg.
avian, would you mind writing where to find them? I’d like to try gma950. anyways, great news for some of us, netkas!
Yes, please could you provide a link for the X3100 kexts, avian?
Which X3100 based device IDs should be natively compatible – is there a list somewhere of all the exact device IDs that were included in Macs?
My Lenovo T61 comes with a Core2Duo and GMA X3100 (GM965) Crestline (Device ID=2A02) with 400MHz clock, Vertex and Pixel Shader 4.0 with 8 shader processors, 10.7GB/sec memory bandwidth and OpenGL 2.0 … could this work nicely as a Hackintosh at 10.6.2 ?
hi can you please send the link to me tooooooo to x3100 64bit driver
thanks a lot
So, just for the record, does this mean that as of 10.6.2 all Intel Macs with a 64-bit processor and EFI will be able to boot into 64-bit kernel mode?
2A02 works nicely in 10.6.2 in 64bit mode.
I have an 2A02 in Hp Compaq 6720s, but where I can download the kext please?
I thought 64 bit driver is available in Snow Leopard Server because it uses 64 bit kernel
More info here:

Does 10.6.2 update has a driver for intel 5350 wimax/wifi card?
I need the link too, my Lenovo N200 works in SL only in 32bit mode with QE
same here… i have a macbook 3,1 santarosa with a x3100… anyone can tell me where i can find the 64bit kext? tnx very much
Update will be there soon. It was anounced for the first week of november. So there is already an delay. Should be there in a few days.
I installed the 10.6.2 update but my macbook 4,1 does not load in 64bit mode??????
any chance there is a GMA900 driver for SL floating around somewhere? I mean, I’ve managed to get it working but without QE/CI (which I managed on 10.5.6). I thought apple once put these 900’s in some machines, or am I mistaken and it was ported from a GMA950 kext
That is really cool! Finally my MACBOOK 4,1 Snow Leo 10.6.2 with 6GB of memory is in 64bit mode)))))
I believe the Macbooks have a 32bit EFI and are thus not able to take advantage of the 64bit kernel.
Go to a terminal and run:
ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi
It’ll tell you whether you have EFI32 or EFI64
i want the one for my notebook :hp cq45 203tx
Will you work on intel graphics support for hacks?
