Some news from 10.6.3 beta
opengl 3.0 test there doesnt work yet tho and most of gl3.0 specific functions aren’t present yet, but most of modern gpu’s functionality is now possible to use via extensions.
I hope they’re not going to hold opengl3.0 untill 10.7

What’s about support ATI HD 5XXX
///not supported yet.
Nice find, netkas!
hehe
was about time, hope they get full 3.0 support done till final 10.6.3
and also hope this yields some opengl performance improvements
btw. do you have an adc account or where do you get these beta updates from? any hints?
What’s about QE support for ATI HD2600?
Stupid question. Can I get my 4670 working? QE/CI? GL3?
Tried prior instructions but got the 2k.kext panics.
I have an ACER aspire 5810tg with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. Although in this as well as other forums it is said that this video card is supported, I tried to make it work with SL 10.6.2 using the settings you suggest, but no way. Although the ATI4500Controller and ATIRadeonX2000 have the correct device id (0×95521002) in the Info.plist, I just managed to start the video in VESA mode… now way, I tried hundreds of times… I read every forum goggle can reach, nothing of nothing. After one week f troubles, I think I’m going to surrender and go back to Vista…
ох уж эти радикострадания… нормальную видяху надо брать.
I second night_rider. My HIS H467QS1GH Radeon HD 4670 1GB doesn’t work. Device ID’s 0xaa38 and 0×9490 (according to ubuntu 7.04).
Nice info , thanks master Netkas!!!
What does this mean ? Mac OS X 10.6.3 drops older cards with OpenGL 2 support ?
///no
To all ppl who asking for QE/CI/ATI/Nvidia support in the next patch…
Who should know it except beta testers, who wont share this infos to us?
Sit back and wait for 10.6.3…
Snow Kitty already supports Nvidia cards with QE and CI doesnt it?
I hope they updated drivers for 46xx cards! Current drivers are buggy as cow dung.
Thanks Netkas for the heads up!
lol, ATI doesn’t even support Windows properly, most crap drivers from ANY manufacturer, and here people are crying about ATI cards not running on a hackintosh? wow, that’s HILARIOUS.
!
is there any leak of the beta yet

Is there any update for DNS resolve issue on 10.6.3?

my 3870 is running on snow but no QE!
any updates? or 3870 will never work ?
what is the best card to use with snow?
GTX 260? or 4870?
i just need to run with imovie
thanks
I’d be interested in hearing if i5/i7 CPU detection is fixed in 10.6.3 as well, but I’m thinking they may not add that til the final release. Nothing against the Quad-Core Xeon or anything, but…
Hello Netkas, thank you so much for all the dedicated work & research you do for the osx86 community (and Apple! LOL).
I’ve been trying to find instructions on how to create “dummy” kexts to put in E/E for the ATI Radeon HD 46xx series (4650-0×94981002)- so i don’t have to add the IDs every time I update. I thought I saw instructions here but I can’t find them. What I tried to do (mimicking AHCI dummy kexts) did not work. Is that even possible? Or probably I was just missing some important details… Thanks!
netkas would you mind telling all of us neglected nvidia users whether or not this build has issues or even supports the 7XXX series
Thanks
There was a new 10.6.3 release yesterday, can someone check if there are any improvements on the OpenGL 3.0 support?
Thanks.

Hi,
I have the MSI 4830 512MB OC Edition. I tried installing Pc_efi and using graphicsenabler=y plus the patch from here. The card detects in the system profiler as a 4830 256mb and only 1024 x 768 resolution is available. Can Anyone help me please?
Any chance for a 2GB graphics card with 10.6.3?
I see that the macbooks are using the 9400 chip.
To make my hack compatible I would like to buy a 9400 card. But which brand/model should I go for?
Any advice?
What?s about QE support for ATI HD4650?
