Is your device id included in ATIRadeonX2000.kext ?

mj23, add your devid to the IOPCIMatch string in ATIRadeonX2000.kext. It will be 0xyyyy1002. Clear your kext cache, fix permissions, reboot. That should do it for you.

guys, looks like i messed up my X2000.kext.. i simply replaced to the original kext, the device ID was actually in the list already, that fixed the issue.

    i have everything working now!

outstanding work, thanks again for the new solid natit!

This means that with this new natit I install macos86 with my 3850.¿? That would be great news 🙂

I’m getting a pure black signal (not standby) on my MSI Radeon XR 2600 XT (0x9588). I’m running 10.5.2 (Zephyroth) with the posted Natit and the kexts from the graphics update. I have 2x DVI out, trying one with a DVI2VGA, and one without to a 24″ Dell, 1920×1200.

Does this black signal ring a bell with anyone? Any ideas on solving this?

    No luck for me!

    Here’s what I’ve done:
    1. Installed Kalyway 10.5.1 and update combo 10.5.2
    2. Installed Triaxis, hd3870, (two links from irc) – give me white menus
    3. Replace my ATIRadeonX200GLDriver.bundle with the one from irc
    4. Installed Graphics update 1.0 – from apple

results….still got white menus (when graphics update in now installed, the system only give me blue screen)

Still waiting…..I beleive it is soon be done…thx for your hardwork Netkas…

great work! My HD 2600 Pro is working very fast with the new natit.kext
but i still cant get QE / CI to work! any idea?
    thanks alot!

Visiontek 3850 – white menu fix works! Yeah!

That, and 2d temps are very low (PowerPlay appears to be working). Now that I don’t have to flash the BIOS to work in Windows, I can compare the 2 sets of temps (no GPU sensor in Hack yet, unfort).

I’ve been running stability tests for the last day or so, but my network card was causing a KP for some reason – downloading WoW demo using the PtP setting. Anyway, changed network card and appears to be stable – running video and CPU stress for 24 hours, no crashes.

Will run WoW for a while to stress the 3D side and see what temps do.

    So far, looks GREAT!

Legolas add ur devid to ATIRadeonX2000.kext Info.plist

  19. February 26th, 2008 | 12:50 am

What have you done so far? I have a Kaliway 10.5, updated to 10.5.2 with the Netkas method, with the Graphics Update, new Natit, and Modified kexts posted here yesterday. Not much other than that.

Sleep works, too. Vanilla kernel, not Speedstep.

netkas i did, but i still doesnt work. my Device ID is 0x9589 & copie it to ATIRadeonX2000.kext Info.plist
    now it looks like this:
    0x9589 0x94001002….

guys, if you are having trouble with HD 2600xt, trying using the original 10.5.1 ATIRadeonX2000.kext instead of something you jacked somewhere else, that fixed my various issue.

i have MSI HD 2600xt 512MB, everything worked flawlessly with this natit and nothing else..

my 2 cents, worth the try..

i’ve tried this driver on kaly 10.5.2, asus P5E and shappire ati radeon HD3870, in the AtiRadeonX2000.kext there is my vendor id (0x95011002) so it’s ok?? but after reboot i have black screen… what i wrong??

    OpenGL Scores for my 3850 – 1600x1200x32 (60 hz)
    1.1 2544
    1.2 2575
    1.3 2550
    1.4 2459
    1.5 2500
    2.0 2359
    2.1 159

    with all the goodies turned to max (no LOD Bias), it’s 263, 267, 263, 256, 255, 252, 125

I get about 100-110oF in Idle, and up to 160oF in WoW just fartin’ around.

No idea if they’re any good or not, but LastExile was curious..

    My Sapphire 3850 256MB

working (after 28 hours of trial and error) on kalyway 10.5.2 Combo Update.
The trick was downloading and installing the graphic update, then rebooting in safe mode, installing this new NATIT and white menus fix and…..
No black screens anymore, CI, QE and rotation supported and all without Bios Flash.
Temperature not tested, but working on it.

  26. February 27th, 2008 | 7:48 pm

I did just about the same as downlord with my Visiontek 3850 – works like a charm.

I’m using an external temp probe that’s about 10oF different from the XP sensor, so I assume my temps are about 10oF low.

At idle I’m running 100-110oF in 10.5.2, and 95oF in XP. In WoW, I’m running 160-165oF in 10.5.2. Playing videos in 10.5.2 fluctuates somewhere in the 120’s – this is all at the probe, so add 10oF for the die temps.

Legolas – you need to add 1002 to the end of your device ID so it should be 0x95891002. You can delete all the other device IDs except your own in that line aswell if you like.

Can you show me your versions of the following kexts in your working Leopard ?
    Natit.kext ATINDRV.kext ATIRadeonX2000.kext (these 3 in /System/Library/Extensions) and OpenGL.framework (this one in /System/Library/Frameworks).
BTW does your ATI HD2600 enable its hardware CI/QE functions via internal (laptop) or DVI–> external display ?

    February 29th, 2008 | 3:47 am

I’m very sorry to inform you that maybe I had given you the wrong impression about my testing result about ATI Mobility HD2600. Actually up to now I have never successfully enabled its hardware CI/QE functions yet. For internal laptop screen I can only activate VESA 1024×768 fixed resolution. Using either ATY-Triakis or ATY-Lamna method it can be displayed via DVI–> external monitor up to 1600 x 1050 resolution without hardware CI/QE functions. That’s why I request help here. I think we’re in the similar situation of using the same display card.

Good news for me. At last I can enable hardware CI/QE functions via DVI–> external display after re-flash my laptop’s BIOS and upgrade ATIRadeonX2000 related kexts to 10.5.2 from Apple website. Only two problems remain :(1) No possible internal display (2) Failure of internal USB 2.0 Camera even with macam 0.9.1 installed. Any suggestion ?

If I have a pc version Force3D HD3870, will it work if I install this natit without flashing the bios with EFI rom? Is it even possible to do so, not sure if the rom is 64k or 128k as EFI requires. And still looking for that rom, as in everywhere….
