PC_efi brings leopard to atom(R).

One of our anonymous sources managed to run Leopard on atom based system he got.

Atom cpu has ssse3 and 64-bit, so it runs unmodified osx leopard kernel with efi emulator.

Detailed specs is:

northbridge: 945gc
CPU : Atom 1.6 Ghz
sound chip: ALC662
network RTL8102EL

512 MB RAM

osx missdetects cpu cache size, but it’s only cosmetic, not performance hits because of it

geekbench 1.0 64-bit - 90.8 points

“The machine could perform better with more RAM memory”

So you can see what performance will have atom based apple portable macs.

oh, and btw, this thing could run of a solar panel

    dunno about macs, my very old cel 1.7 had about 73 in geekbench.

    Do you have a link, is it a pico itx setup? Can it do .264 content and up to what rez? This could be an AWESOME media machine.

    if u can find radeon hd 2×00 3xx0 pci videocard(not pci-e), it will do h264

    Heh.. By “which model this pertains to”, I kinda meant more than just the processor. :)

    Was it a pre-built system? Was it pieced together? In either case, is a link available to where the hardware can be obtained? :)

    Netkas did it again…
    I began thinkng about an atom based ihack, and BINGO, netkas has already done it. Incredible. You’re awesome.

    Next step: HD4870 ;-) I’m counting on you, you have no idea…

    BTW, this atom is about 1/3 of a Pentium E2160… far better than an AppleTV !

    Intel® Desktop Board D945GCLF is almost certainly the hardware it was done on.

    Was the Hackintosh smooth? Asus Eee PC 701 with 900mhz Celeron is fine but there are big kernel timing issues that mean animations aren’t great and system clock is confused. Does this work 100%?

    The Atom CPU on the Intel D945GCLF board is an ultra low cost single core version with hyperthreading. There are other Atom cpus with dual cores on the horizon.

    Question, does your USB ports work, I mean for than the mouse and keyboard?

    Cause any flash drive i plug in doesn’t mount.
