[…] Netkas has done it again! After some hard work Netkas has not only managed to get Mac OS X 10.6 ”Snow Leopard” up and running on his Intel based Hackintosh, but also in full 64-Bit mode using the 10.0.0d1 64-Bit Mach Kernel. […]
I don’t really see the benefits of 64-bit computing. Just more memory more hardware. Majority of apps still need to use 32-bit apps along with 64-bit to make things work. I don’t know…
I believe it may only be purely for scientific/server applications and not much of a benefit for the regular user. Other then AMD there really isn’t much true 64-bit cpus out there. Core2Dous use EMT64 extensions but really aren’t true 64bit.
sorry buddy but amd’s 64bit code set better than emt64 😉
And 64bit programs can run faster if you coded true i mean its osx not a windows so have a very differents anyway i am waiting answer from netkas about amd ( there is hope ? :D) cya 😉
Great news! anyway, what about ToH 9.3.0 kernel for non core™ cpus??
hi Netkas,
that is an awesome advance, congratulations !!
Will you also compile the 9.3 kernel sources? I am still running your 9.2 speedstep kernel, which is 100% stable!! Your modds and compiles have always been the best – it would be a real winner if you also compiled a 9.3 speedstep kernel 🙂
What do you think? Have you made a diff about what Apple changed?
Chers,
Bugs
netkas, were are you man?! Don’t let us down… Even if the new boot-132 method works great, you’re still the most important OSx86 hacker… we all need you!! Please don’t leave us… :'(
hei gigabyte E7AUM COPY OF MACBOOK UNIBODY PERFECT FOR SNOW LEOPARD.
132 BOOT PLEASE. (SALUDOS DESDE ESPAÑA NETKAS Y SUERTE)
