It’s interesting! I kind of want to see Apple’s strategy towards NVidia. Or possibly they are just fixing drivers for what’s already out there for folks with MacPros.
why not booting with normal Mode the XPC, after Update to 11A430 Build ?
Only Boot with -v Option.
All importend kexts is inside and with -v boot all ok.
Hav anyone Tips ?
P.S. I wont be posting on insanelymac for a while because one of the idiot moderators (Alessandro17) has suspended my account for asking him why he deleted my response to some idiot claiming 6900 series cards work (my reponse was polite btw). Alessandro17 told me he could do without users like me – silly me I thought I was posting to help other members get thier cards working not to satisfy his ego!
@Andy
Can’t believe he/she suspend your account for nothing..I mean I’ve read your posts and those posts are nowhere near ‘personal attack’..I will say it’s horseshit!!
atlee – nope, he has banned my account. Before he banned me I asked him who I could contact regarding his behaviour and he laughed and replied ‘you can’t report a moderator, the idea is ridiculous’. So I guess the mod’s there are not accountable for their own conduct and are above reproach (now THAT is ridiculous).
Yep, I read the discussion over at insanelymac and Andy has been quite polite all along. Remaining cool was actually quite an achievement, when replying to that guy (whose accounts remain active) who popped up by calling others “babies” and pretending that the 69XX issue had such an “easy solution”. This guy, who then complained about imaginary personal attacks (in the very same post where he accused others of being incapable or reading English), apparently got all over himself for being given some secret info @ Apple’s private dev forums. Such an easy solution for our problem, indeed.
Yea, I had a mod from insanelymac remove a post I made because I included a picture of the App Store from Lion. Just a single picture of that window, it wasn’t even the entire desktop screen. I swear they abuse their power. Unbelievable. :\
Hey guys, I was wondering how people are getting DP2 installed on their system using Fermi cards, I have tried XPC and iBoot and had no problems installing DP1, I just soon after deleted Lion because of the lack of QE/CI, there was no point.
To save some time, since I made a lengthy post on Insanely Mac, I am going to do a little copy/paste action:
“But when I use iBoot 1.4 I get the ‘PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN’ error. So then I tried going the route of XPC and using that, I get a solid underscore that does nothing (left it there for 15 minutes to make sure) – so I am at a loss of what steps I need to take to get this running.
If you are familiar with the lifehacker Snow Leopard build that is pretty much what I have with the exception of a GTX 470 Video card.
Motherboard is a EP45UD3P Gigabyte -”
@Stellarola, I am actually glad to see you posted here as it is the one-and-only lifehacker build you created the UD3P install package for. Maybe you might be the best person to talk to about it.
Is there somewhere in the DSDT I need to change the graphics card at, I am a bit confused on that part – I originally had the 9800GTX like in the lifehacker build but soon after upgraded to a GTX 470.
Anyone that could help, feel free to respond here or shoot me an email at cantyjeffrey(at)gmail.com
I followed that thread and reported Alessandro17 moderator from insanelymac to administrators, but I doubt it will get far, the whole situation is retarded. Sigh.
Jeff did you fix your problem with installing Lion?
I recall seeing that ‘PCI Configuration begin’ message when I was first messing around creating an iBoot usb stick and I’m pretty sure that it’s caused by a duff install of the tool. I reformatted the usb stick as fat32, reran the windows utility to create the stick and then copied the efi folder and the efildr20 files from the downloaded iBoot folder over to the usb stick to replace the ones created by the installer.
I am pretty sure that this is due to the fermi cards. I have a 465 and am experiencing the same problems. I heard somewhere that it could be the HDMI audio output if that helps. I have been hearing lots of non-HDMI nVidia card success stories so this may be the case
People should know my position before judging.
Andy was suspended *not* for “asking something”, but for being in breach of one of our most basic rules: “Do not publicly discuss the decision of a moderator. If there is any issue with a decision of a staff member PM them or contact an admin.”
Anyway, it wasn’t even a suspension, it was a 10 days mod preview, which means his posts would have been approved ASAP by any mod.
He was banned not without reason, but for calling a member of staff in public “a complete idiot” just as he is doing here.
After causing so much aggravation, he created a new account and ATM he is posting unhindered.
As to other IM members attacking our moderation system, why don’t you apply to be a mod if you think you can do better?
Biting the hand that feeds you, how nice and brave!
In case anybody should ever read this page. At the time I was *not* a simple moderator, I was an administrator already, even if I didn’t have the badge yet. That is why I said that reporting me was ridiculous. As to the person who runs this blog, I respect him in my forum, but he refused to do the same here, by doing some clean up.
Netkas, any changes in ATI kexts? Does your Eyefinity 6 still require Zonalis injection to get steam games, geekbench, etc… working?
It’s interesting! I kind of want to see Apple’s strategy towards NVidia. Or possibly they are just fixing drivers for what’s already out there for folks with MacPros.
The 6870 now has a name…of sorts.
Instead of “ND140” it is now “ATI Radeon HD 6xxx”
DVD player still crashing as is Steam.
Tried with 6970 as well as 6870 at same time.
Both showed up, display worked great from 6870, usual lock-up on 6970.
Oddly, Luxmark saw both of them as OpenCl devices, but only allotted .2% of workload to 6970 and 99.8% to 6870.
So far only change is naming of 6870.
Any chance of getting the ATI kexts?
To Netkas and/or The Rominator
Any chance of pulling the Nvidia graphics drivers to test under SL with addition of the GTX 570/580 device id’s?
Just noticed the drivers have been updated….
Thanks
guess i will go checkout the new build if there is one 😀

For me… didn’t end update. All night, with 10 sec left!!!
it won’t boot… still waiting root device…
Thank you netkas
Andy! After use fixing, a problem with two DVI (not work two displays) … Could you see what’s up?
thanks rominator

@Andy,
wow. that kind of attitude will really harm the community. Where can we reach you these days?

@Andy you can get back in talk to the other moderators.

Oh now he actually appears to have deleted my account altogether!

This guy and the moderator should be banned.
@Andy
Alessandro17 is a poor guy, just ignore him.

@Andy @Jeff Same problem for me, ‘PCI Configuration begin’ with gtx 460…try your fix with iboot but nothing…
