What exactly is this image trying to show? Is it just saying that 64-bit is working in Snow Leopard or something?

this image shows AppleEfiRuntime working(kind of, on hackint0sh it still cant save nvram values for example) on x64 sneo kernel, proofs for it is working fine IODT:/options, rest of images shows that now bootloader emulates 64-bit efi tables.

    So what is _exactly_ new?
AppleEfiRuntime and /options works on my hackintosh without any problems (except saving efi vars during reboot of course, but there’s is not so hard to fix it by saving-restoring /options branch to some file in stage2 bootloader:)). X64 boot won’t work with nvidia graphics, but it must be no problems on ati cards.
And where is promised pc efi 9 sources, netkas?

Easy Caine. The community is glad to have Netkas’ contributions, when and however they may come. He has his reasons, and he’ll do what he thinks is right.

That is, unless you can write 64bit bootloaders…

might be a bit offtopic, but with an EFI bootloader, would it be possible to use it for other OSs as well such as Vista 64 (which apparently supports some kind of EFI) or Linux?

I tried out to start the dev build 10a222, C2D, GA-EP35-DS3, ATI 3850.
Not even get it to boot, using an special boot and special mach_kernel_sn (found on irc ).
Could , netkas told us, ATI 3850 getting at least VGA screen or overall no way with that card (and the new driver sets which differe much to 10.5.X set) ?
Seems that the dev&try of SN Leo is more an closed group thing and not for all ?

Thanks netkas, for any news about SN Leo

thats awsome. we will have a bootloader right on the publishing date of 10.6, if you are working already hard on it.

capeau au grand signeur de boot.

    >most devs which code used in it, already have sources
so, you will not share these sources for everyone and thus yo’re not allowing any 3rd party patches, fixes for it, right?

First of all ,Great work and thanks for everything!

Is it possible to add to PCEFI the ability to load extensions from initrd image or is it too much work?

    TIA

Does NVRAM storage mean that we can finally set a default boot resolution. I don’t like the resolution changing at boot!!

Can you give me a tip on how to boot the dev cd of snow on my hackintosh?
I have 10.5.5 working nicely and have installed pcefi_v9 on a spare HD.
Thanks for your work, it’s much appreciated.

A modified bootloadder is required for 64 bit support but snow can boot in 32 bit also.
The thing i really wanted to know is about AHCI in 10A222. still KP ?

Was the KP because of EFI32?

(I’ve also seen somthing about 32 bit transfert mode in bios; would it be a problem?)
