Warning, paragon ntfs isn’t safe.

I wanna warn you guys to do not use find cli utlity on ntfs partitions mounted with paragon ntfs drivers.

It killed ntfs partittions for me (not once, on different hdds), latest paragon drivers seems to be buggy.

In OSX you just cant enter to Partition after find worked some time.

I use Paragon for NTFS & EXTFS for a long time w/o any problems… Netkas, what is the problem? Do you use “find” frequently? Once I had encuntered the some self-check problem, but after I diabled SpotLight for all NTFS & EXTFS partitions, the bug seems to be gone.

Did you use a fully registered copy or a K’ed version?

ZA, when it happened once i didnt bother much about paragon, cuz i needed to reinstall win on the corrupted partittion. but when it happened second time(and on anohter hdd), I became a bit afraid to run find on ntfs partittions, indexing is disabled already.

I used this to partition my hard drive (when Vista’s disk partition app didn’t work). It worked fine. I DID see a similar screen to that, but nothing was erased.

I just wish there was a way to safely resize HFS+ partitions.

I did uninstall paragon ntfs since it always crashed (freeze) when transfering large amounts of data between hfs and ntfs partitions, the same behavior was found on the version installed from paragon and the ntfs-3g one installed by vmware/parallels on a asus with via chipset, on a GA-945GCM-S2L (ich7) and again and again on a P43 (ich10) from gigabyte too.
Or there is something wron with hackintoshs or this system is really really buggy

also NTFS-3G / macfuse is buggy
i had problems with uncompressed quicktime movies playback smooth, and this was because of ntfs3g
    after removed, no more skipping
but i need such a program, paragon can also search (via finder) ntfs partitions?
it’s a pain in the ass try to locate a file inside a folder with like 1000 different files

i would like to try it but noway destroy my ntfs disks (lot of data there)

Ive done research into this it because both programs run off macfuse core thing from google which has been written for Google desktop which hasn’t surfaced yet and applied to UNIX so its buggy but there’s been few bugs with it so it was ignored only real work around i got was to keep reinstalling and uninstalling that component since its brakes all other ways, but ipartition seems to be better and doesn’t run off it but i’ve had little time testing it atm
    hope this helps

2 Cart: it looks that you have problems with AppleVIAATA kext. I had the same type of problems, and after changing kexts as described here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88335 problem disappeared.
Now I have Paragon ntfs 6.5 it works fine with big files, though I don’t use find on ntfs partitions )

Actually it does somehow… I have EP45-DS3L and I had such type of problems too before replacing Intel and removing VIA kexts…

    Don’t Paragon/VMware/Parallels NTFS partitions.
Use latest MacFUSE/NTFS-3G and disable catching on the PrefPane
