Converting MacPro1,1 to MacPro2,1

A user of our forum, who released update utility to convert MacPro4,1 into MacPro5,1 (so you can your hexacore cpus in it) have released update utility to transform MacPro1,1 into MacPro2,1.

It will not bring you 64-bit efi support, maybe will make you feel newer.

    I have a: MacPro1,1
    Boot ROM Version: MP11.005D.B00
    SMC Version (system): 1.7f10

I ordered it from Apple with 8-core versus standard Quad-core.

The question is whether I have the correct firmware. I see on another site that
    A standard Quad-core would have:
EFI Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B08 (EFI 1.2) and
    SMC Version: 1.7f10 (SMC 1.1)

    And a MacPro2.1 which is 8-Core stock:
EFI Boot ROM Version: MP21.007F.B06 (EFI 1.2) and
    SMC Version: 1.15f3 (SMC 1.1)

In my “About this Mac” i says my 8-core MacPro1.1 has:
    Boot ROM Version: MP11.005D.B00
    SMC Version (system): 1.7f10

I’m running OSX 10.6.8 and have 8 GB RAM, 1 stick per slot x 8. Do you know if I have the correct EFI and SMC?

    Thanks,
    Steven
