An ATI “Update”

Last three 10.7.2 beta builds has same ATI drivers version, so no changes for 69×0.

So, it’s likely we will not see anything new untill 10.7.3.

Apple is never adding support for new cards durring beta tests of one osx version.(all betas of same build have same graphics cards support).

OpenCL Oceanwave benchmark should now (10.7.2 OpenCL drivers) correct.
Here benchmark and collected FPS results of ATI + nvidia OpenCL gpus.

I just noticed that 11C71 have been released, it seem to have updated x1600 drivers, so maybe more ATI drivers have been updated?!

Netkas, please let us know if HD6XXX series have been updated 🙂

    Hey Netkas,

Didn’t find any other way to contact you, so I try over here.

I’ve been running flawlessly on a GA-X58A-UD5 mobo, and a GTX 285. The Lion install was running perfectly, until I switched the GFX for a Quadro 5000 (Fermi). The thing boots aver some work, but after booted up GFX glitches appears and crashed the computer (it can even reset de bios sometimes).

Have you already tried this card ? Do you have any information on it ?

    Thank you,

    ////never tried this card

Thank you so much Netkas for all your hard work. i’m willing to pay you to keep tweaking the HD6950 drivers for Lion. I’d love to use iTunes and other apps normally without disabling features. Paypal donations button much needed.

Since Netkas hasn’t posted yet, and the C73 GM appears to be out, with 7.12.9 which (among other things) works properly with GL Extension Viewer, I did a binary diff on the old version and blindly applied it to the new one. Not elegant at all, and Netkas’s work, but not noticing any broken stuff. C73 GL bundle:

Zeir: What do you mean by no broken stuff? Like no broken chess, working photoshop and working sleep?

I am suddenly getting light gray screen freezes; usually when some form of video is playing like netflix streaming. I noticed this after I had done 2 things: updated to 10.7.2 and installed the 10.6.8 driver and kext key by Netkas. I only did that latter so that the dvd player would play, which it seems to do. I haven’t seen a whole movie that way, so perhaps the light gray screen freeze would happen on it, too. I’m a nube, so I know next to nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I hate the xfx radeon hd 5450 1gb, 0x68f91002.
I’ve tried all possibilities and nothing till now. Every time i thought i made it, the bootscreen got black or white. Tried ati5000injector, inserting the id manually in the ati5000controller… Extracting the rom file under windows, UseAtiRom on extra…
    but nothing seems to work.
    Tried over 10.6.8 and 10.7.2.
    Any ideas??

Hi everyone – I was told to post here since you guys are very knowledgable with these things and I have had no luck elsewhere.
I just installed an XFX 6870 dual fan into my Mac Pro 1.1. It appears to be working great with nothing done to it at all in 10.6.8 ( as expected). However, I’m having one hell of a time getting my 24″ Acer widescreen display to consistently appear. It is usually a black screen, but when it shows it works 100%. I tried all MDP-DVI a passive and one I bought from Apple so I assume its active, and none worked. The only way I can get it to work is by using a DVI-VGA or MDP-VGA. I’m only using 2 displays and really don’t want my 24″ on VGA.
Anyone know what might be causing this? I could really use some help.
